Had dinner with my family after long time in watan again. Food was tasty!! although we have to wait for a bit. service was good. Alia waitress was very nice & helpful. Also Aziz served us good too. Thank you

Fantastic food we had lamb curry with pilleau rice and a seekh kebab with a peshawar naan and mango lasse to drink. Staff were most helpful explaining what was on the menu. Would definitely go again

Mostly good but charged us £3.50 for water that we didn’t consume. Also wasn’t first being served dessert but after complaint to manager it was served. Apparently they don’t serve dessert on weekends.Really tasty food. One of the best Afghanfood in London.
Extremely poor customer service, they get angry and aggressive when we, the customers are asking for something that shouldn’t be a problem, we asked for a different seat as we didn’t want to sit near the front where there was a lot of cold, they get aggressive, kiss their teeth in our faces and move us to the back which really got on my nerves. Customers are supposed to be taken care off and made comfortable, not for them to feel uncomfortable and threatened. Food was cold as if it came out of a fridge. Barely any of the mixed grill itself (kebab) just filled with rice which barely had any flavour and to be quite frank, one would say it tasted bland. Customer service already ruined this experience. Having seen a lot of social media promotion of this place, it almost seems like this was payed promotion where they make everything seem like this restaurant is perfect when in-fact it’s the exact opposite.
Came the other day with a mate to this spot and was told it was the best afghan place in London, if not the whole of Uk. Was somewhat disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Luke warm food like it came off the grill hours ago. Ordered the Afghan special mixed which was primarily filled with rice and barely any of the kebab itself. It’s named Afghan Special Mixed Grill with rice etc but the rice isn’t even Afghan? Only one of them but the main Afghan dish which is Kabuli wasn’t even given with this, instead something else which did not taste fresh at all. Service was poor, it’s like they just give your food, take your money and then tell you to get out. Compared to what I’ve seen on social media, my experience did not live up to the expectations that was all over social media. Almost seems like false advertisement to just get people to come here for the sake of money and business.
Reserved for a a big family at 20:00 New Years Eve. Understandable that it was busy but we had to wait until 20:30 to be seated. If a table is reserved for 20:00, you’d expect the table to be ready for 20:00 like any other restaurant. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. I must say the service was quick but they got a few orders wrong and I had to wait almost 45 minutes to get my food because they mixed up my order.

I visited the restaurant today and found a piece of metal in the lamb karahi. It was a shocking and unpleasant experience. Please be cautious if you choose to dine there!
There is difference between butter naan and tandoori naan , This place has been changed. A lot we came all the way from 🏴

The charsi lamb tikka is freshly prepared. Definitely would recommend this and the mix grill platter.

The Afghani cuisine at Watan is undoubtedly of top quality. The flavors are authentic, and the dishes are cooked to perfection, showcasing the rich and aromatic essence of Afghani food. From the tender kebabs to the flavorful rice, every bite feels like a culinary journey to Afghanistan. The food itself is worth the visit, and it's clear that the kitchen staff know their craft well.However, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed disorganized and uncoordinated. We waited for an unusually long time to be served, and it felt like there was a lack of communication among them. It wasn’t clear if they were overwhelmed or simply untrained, but the experience could be improved with better management and training. If they can get the service up to the same standard as the food, Watan would be an exceptional place to dine.
I have had some really tasty food with authentic flavours from this place. Been there quite a few times. The Lamb Biryani and the grilled chicken is delicious. Price is reasonable as well. If looking for yummy Afghani and Pakistani flavoursome food it is a must try. Service is ok nothing to complain about and the place is decent in terms of ambiance.
What a tasty meal! Left feeling so satisfied. Portion size was great and everything was so well seasoned. Had the mixed grill platter, delicious! You must try the mantu and chapli, those were the highlight for me ~ Staff were friendly and attentive especially Zabi.
